The Optometrist – Dr. Daniel Do

Neuro-Developmental Optometrist with a focus on Pediatrics and Vision Therapy.  Dr. Do has over 15 years of clinical experience as a licensed Doctor of Optometry specializing in examining, diagnosing, treating, managing and preventing diseases and disorders of the visual system and related eye structure.

  • Dr. Do completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto and graduated with a Bachelor of science in Physiology with Honours.
  • Dr. Do earned his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry, in Chicago, Illinois
  • Dr. Do has over 10 years of affiliation with the acclaimed Herzig Eye Institute, with extensive experience in providing refractive surgery and laser eye assessments along with meticulous pre- and post- operative surgical care examinations.
  • While at the Herzig Eye Institute, Dr. Do performed executive eye examinations for patients of privatized healthcare centres of both Medcan and the Cleveland Clinic.
  • Dr. Do has been performing annual Vision Screenings and Comprehensive Eye Examinations for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Marlies since 2006.  Dr. Do also provides comprehensive vision care for the executives of the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey Club.
  • Dr. Do at the forefront of modern optometry, and is one of the first optometrist in Canada certified in the management of Dry Eye through Lipiflow Treatment.
  • Dr. Do is recognized and licensed by the Ontario College of Optometrists with the ability to treat advanced ocular pathologies via topical and oral prescriptions.
  • Dr. Do has a wide-range of international clinical experience with extensive hospital management of complicated disease anthologies at the Illinois Eye Institute (Chicago, Illinois); Jamaica Plains Veteran Affairs Hospital (Boston, Massachusetts); Kresege Eye Institute (Detroit, Michigan); Battle Creek Veteran Affairs Hospital (Battle Creek, Michigan); and the acclaimed Fichte Eye Institute (Buffalo, New York).
  • Dr. Do. is recognized by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry and the National Board of Examiners in the Treatment and management of Ocular Diseases such as glaucoma and dry eye since 2002.
  • Dr. Do is recognized and privileged to serve as a clinical assessor for the Canadian Examiners of Optometry; evaluating the clinical skills of future optometrists to be licensed in Canada for the Canadian Optometry board examinations.
  • Dr. Do is a former University of Toronto Varsity Volleyball athlete.  He enjoys playing competitive tennis for the Etobicoke Central Tennis Club.  He is a proud husband; and his greatest joy is being a father to his two little girls
  • As a member of the Etobicoke/Kingsway community, Dr. Do is honoured that many neighbours, local business owners,  and friends of the community place their trust in Dr. Daniel Do to care for the vision health of their family.

The Optometrist – Dr. Kimberley Nguyen

Neuro-Developmental Optometrist and residency-trained with a focus in Pediatrics and Vision Therapy.

 

  • Dr. Nguyen earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry in New York City. She graduated as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa National Optometric Honor Society.
  • Dr. Nguyen completed a Residency in Pediatrics and Infant Vision at SUNY College of Optometry, where she gained extensive experience in Pediatrics (including infants and those with special needs), Vision Therapy, Myopia Control, and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation.
  • Dr. Nguyen’s passion in pediatrics started when she learned that early-age visual issues could have a severe negative impact on learning and development. Her goal is to provide her patients with the opportunity for clear, efficient, and comfortable vision.
  • Dr. Nguyen is a professional member of the Canadian and Ontario Association of Optometrists, Vision Therapy Canada, College of Optometrists in Vision Development, and Optometric Extension Program Foundation.

 

  • Dr. Nguyen is conversational in Vietnamese and is proficient in clinical Spanish for optometry.
  • Dr. Nguyen has clinical experience at hospital and academic settings. She has collaborated with pediatric ophthalmologists and supervised optometry students during pediatric clinics.
  • Dr. Nguyen has participated in a mission trip to Panama, where she helped provide eye care to those in underserved communities. She has also traveled throughout New York City schools, providing vision care to students of all ages.
  • Locally raised in Etobicoke as she attended Rosethorn P.S and Etobicoke Collegiate Institute before pursing her Doctorate Degree in Optometry and residency in New York. Outside the office Dr Nguyen enjoys traveling, baking, and spending time with her family and dog.

The Optometrist – Dr. Jenna Walden

Neuro-Developmental Optometrist with over 10 years of experience with a focus on
Pediatrics and Vision Therapy

 

  • Dr. Walden completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Waterloo and graduated
    with a Bachelor of science in Biomedical Science with Honours.
  • Dr. Walden received her Doctor of Optometry degree from The New England College of
    Optometry. She graduated as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa National Optometric
    Honour Society and received the VOSH humanitarian scholarship
  • Dr. Walden has a wide-range of clinical experience with extensive experience in paediatrics
    including infants and those with special needs at The Vision Institute of Canada (Toronto,
    ON); The Budning Eye Institute (Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga, ON); and The Bascom
    Palmer Eye Institute (University of Miami Hospital, Florida).
  • Dr. Walden has completed countless hours of continuing education in the field of Vision
    Therapy and Neuro-rehabilitation including all of the clinical curriculum courses from the
    optometric extension program and from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development
  • Dr. Walden holds her board certification to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents
    (TPAs) in the treatment and co-management of ocular diseases.
  • Dr. Walden’s professional memberships include both the Canadian and Ontario Associations
    of Optometry, Vision Therapy Canada (VTC), the Optometric Extension Program Foundation
    (OEP), and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD
  • Dr. Walden loves spending time with her husband and their beautiful baby girl. In her spare
    time she enjoys running, cycling and snowboarding.

The Optometrist – Dr. Nisha Gupta

 Optometrist with over 10 years of experience with a focus on
Pediatrics and Advanced Eye Care

 

 

  • Dr. Gupta completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours.
  • Dr. Gupta received her Doctor of Optometry degree from The New England College of
    Optometry in Boston.
  • Dr. Gupta has an interest in both pediatrics and disease management. Having had first-hand experience with her own strabismus surgery as a child, she has a vested interest in helping children improve their visual outcomes.
  • Dr. Gupta’s professional memberships include both the Canadian and Ontario Associations of Optometry
  • Dr. Gupta enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, knitting and reading.
  • Dr. Gupta gained experience in disease management through her rotations at East Boston Community Health Center as well as the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Amherst, Massachusetts. 
  • Dr. Gupta had the unique opportunity to perform eye examinations at the Perkins School for the Blind, a school that both Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan previously taught at.  These examinations helped provide functional vision adaptations for children with visual impairments. Dr Gupta holds her board certification to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents(TPAs) in the treatment and co-management of ocular diseases.
  • Dr. Gupta was able to turn a hobby into a small business when in 2021, she started a small knitting business!
  • Dr. Gupta is an avid reader, and in 2022 has already read over 100 books (though some of these were short in length)
